Traditional Chinese keyboard online: Taiwan, Hong Kong, and pinyin
To type Traditional Chinese online, open Chinput and choose 繁體 台 or 繁體 港 above the editor. Type Mandarin pinyin, select a candidate, and copy the characters. No keyboard download or account is required.
Taiwan and Hong Kong options
繁體 台 selects Taiwan-oriented Traditional conversion; 繁體 港 selects Hong Kong-oriented forms. Both display Traditional characters, but regional character and vocabulary conventions can differ. If you are writing for a specific reader, choose the matching setting and review the result.
Pinyin input is not Zhuyin, Cangjie, or Jyutping
This keyboard uses Mandarin pinyin to find characters. Traditional Chinese describes the written character forms, not a single pronunciation system. Chinput does not currently provide a Zhuyin/Bopomofo, Cangjie, Wubi, or Jyutping typing layout. Cantonese voice input is available only in browsers whose speech service supports it; it is separate from the pinyin keyboard.
Simplified to Traditional Chinese conversion
Select 简体 for Simplified input. Use the 简⇄繁 tool to convert text, and check the selected regional script. Pairs such as 学 / 學 and 国 / 國 illustrate character conversion, but a whole document may need context-sensitive choices. Conversion changes writing forms; it does not translate an English sentence or guarantee idiomatic regional wording.
Copying Traditional characters into another app
Once you have checked the text, click Copy. Paste it into your document, website editor, or chat. The resulting Unicode characters can be used independently of Chinput. If your computer already has a suitable Chinese IME, that may be more convenient for daily typing; Chinput is useful when installation is unavailable or you only need occasional input.
